Brooksville, Florida
The quiet is
the point.
Harmony Oaks is a family homestead on the Florida nature coast. We live here, we work the land here, and we are building a private place to stay on it.
It is not open yet. When it is, the list hears first.
What we are after
A place where the day slows down, where the loudest thing is the wind in the trees, and where you are the guest of a family rather than the customer of a property.
That is the whole idea. Everything we build here gets measured against it. If something makes the place busier, louder or more like a hotel, it does not go in.
Room to be quiet
Space between you and the next person. That is the thing land can give you that a good hotel cannot.
A working homestead
This is not a set. There are chores, animals and seasons, and guests are welcome to be as near to them or as far from them as they like.
Family run, plainly
Our family lives here. You will meet us. Nobody is going to hand you a laminated card.
The land
The land does most of the work.
Hernando County sits where central Florida stops being flat and starts being oak, pine and spring water. It is about an hour from Tampa and a world away from it. We did not build the reason to come here. We try not to get in its way.
The stay
We would rather tell you nothing than tell you something we have to take back.
What a stay here includes, what it costs and when it opens are genuinely still being worked out. What we can tell you is how we are thinking about it.
How we are thinking about itPrivate
The point of coming here is that it is yours while you are in it.
Unhurried
Built around slow mornings rather than turnover.
Of the place
Shaped by what this land already is, not by what a booking site rewards.
The dogs
There are dogs here, and they were here first.
Bernedoodles, raised in our house by our family, underfoot and mostly asleep. They are not an amenity we added and they are not a separate business we keep in another tab. They are part of what this place is.
Families looking for a puppy find them through Tampa Bay Doodles, which has its own home online.
Not open yet
There is nothing to book, and we will not pretend otherwise.
No dates, no rates, no availability. What there is, is a list. When Harmony Oaks opens for stays the people on it hear first, and while there is still time to build things in, we would like to know what you would actually come here for.
